Women in STEM works towards inspiring young girls to identify the flaws within the workplace in regards to gender inequality, by hearing the first-hand accounts of women in and pursuing STEM based fields. Through this, we work towards encouraging members to act upon these inequalities in an attempt to resolve them. By holding this skill, members are better equipped to serve their communities by aiding in the creation of a safe space for individuals, no matter the differences they may hold.
Women in STEM will host a series of workshops where members will be taught technical skills such as coding and will be exposed to logic-based problems associated with the different fields within STEM. Through this, members will be able to better develop their critical thinking and problem solving skills as they are being asked to directly apply them to the situation at hand. Furthermore, these workshops will encourage them to look past the normal solutions and think outside the box when faced with a problem.
