Mr. John Richardson

I am in my 19th year of teaching, and my eighth year as Choir Director at Elkins High School in Fort Bend ISD.  Previously, I worked at Angleton High School with Beth Casey, as Head Director at Columbia High School and West Brazos Junior High in Columbia-Brazoria ISD, and as Assistant Choir Director at Clements High School.  My choirs regularly earn Sweepstakes at UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest, Outstanding in Class at Festival, and the prestigious Performance of Distinction at the Celebration of Excellence.  My students have earned placements in the All-Region Choir, Area Choir, and TMEA All-State Choir.  I completed the Bachelor of Music Education from Hardin-Simmons University under the tutelage of Dr. Loyd Hawthorne and the Masters of Music in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University under the instruction of Dr. David Rayl, Dr. Jonathan Reed, and Dr. Sandra Snow.  My wife Michelle and I  have been married for over 19 years, and we have 3 young children.

  • Period 1: Bel Canto Treble Choir (7:30 a.m.-8:20 a.m.)
    Period 2: Concert Tenor-Bass Choir (8:25 a.m.-9:15 a.m.)
    Period 3: Varsity Mixed Choir (9:20 a.m.-10:20 a.m.)
    Period 4: Vertical Alignment (10:25 a.m.-11:15 a.m.)
    Period 5: Vertical Alignment (11:20 a.m.-12:10 p.m.)
    Lunch: 12:10 p.m.-12:55 p.m.
    Period 6: Belle Voix Treble Choir (1:00 p.m.-1:50 p.m.)
    Period 7: Conference (1:55 p.m.-2:45 p.m.)

Teacher Tutorial Schedule

  • SATB TMEA rehearsal Monday 5:00-6:30 p.m.
    Tenor/Bass  Secitonal: Tuesday or Wednesday 3:15 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
    Soprano/Alto Sectional: Thursday 3:15 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
    Tutorials: Tuesday/Thursday 7:00 a.m.-7:20 a.m.  
    All other tutorials M-Th by appointment
