I am extremely excited to be a part of the Elkins family as the Girls Physical Education teacher and Head Volleyball Coach.

After coaching 10 years of collegiate volleyball I am completely overjoyed to be a part of this community. I'm a Houston native, but raised in Navasota, Texas where I played volleyball, softball and was a part of the Region VII High School Rodeo team. After high school I continued my volleyball career at Tyler Jr. College while becoming a part of the first team in TJC history to ever qualify for a national tournament.  After a knee injury my playing career ended but my coaching career was right around the corner. In 2006 I started as the assistant volleyball coach at TJC but soon after would begin my career as the head volleyball coach at Wiley College. In 2008, I led Wiley on a 22 game winning streak and to the NAIA National Volleyball Tournament, which was also the first trip for the Lady Wildcats in school History. After a three year stint at Wiley I experienced coaching at many other Division I universities and junior colleges.

My greatest joy is being able to build relationships and connect with people in different ways. I enjoy taking my life lessons and sharing them to help others.

I received my bachelors degree from Wiley College in Criminal Justice and my masters degree in Sports Management from Dallas Baptist University.

I am married to Curtis Bason Jr., whom is the head basketball coach at Fort Bend Willowridge High School. We have two sons (Conner and Collin) and two daughters (Shaniah and Cai).
