Ms. Veranda Colbert

Hello and Welcome!! 

I am very excited to be teaching AP Psychology and AP Human Geography this year at the Castle! 

I graduated from the University of Houston in 2022 with a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and a minor in Human Development and Family Science. I began teaching here at Elkins in Fort Bend ISD since graduating, and have loved every minute of it. I currently teach four (4) sections of AP Psychology and two (2) sections of AP Human Geography for the 2024-2025 school year. This summer I had the enormous pleasure of getting to attend the Rice University AP Institute Seminar for AP Psychology and worked with many fantastic AP Psychology teachers all across America. I love teaching and learning all things social studies, and am so honored to be teaching what I love here at the Castle. 

When I am outside of the classroom, I love traveling and spending time with friends and family. I have two troublesome cats and a loving partner at home, who is finishing up his degree in Computer Science at the University of Houston this year. We love working on fun tech projects together and reading whenever we can! 

I am looking forward to having another wonderful year here at the Castle and can't wait to work with my amazing students!!
