Degrees and Certifications:

M.A. Interdisciplinary Studies B.S. Computer Science

Elizabeth Ward

I grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where I graduated from Broadmoor High School. I received a B.S. in Computer Science from Louisiana State University and was certified as a Computer Science and Math teacher by University of Houston. I received my Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from University of Houston Victoria in August, 2003.

I am so excited to be teaching my thirty-third year, all but my first year at Elkins.  I am a Knight to the core, since all four of my children graduated from Elkins and I hosted six different exchange students living at my home, attending Elkins through the years.  So I have experienced Elkins from the beginning, as a teacher, parent and guardian.  I have taught Geometry, Algebra I and AP Computer Science Principles and  Fundamentals of Computer Science, and I currently teach Computer Science 1 AAC, AP Computer Science A and Computer Science 3 Honors, which I've taught for many years.  I coach the Computer Science programming team.

I am the CTE Department Leader at Elkins High School.  Having held that position for many years, I can speak about many of our pathways and graduation plans.

I'm passionate about Computer Science Education and where it will take us.
