• Multi – Disciplinary Studies (Decathlon)

    Why take Decathlon?

    • AP Elective credit for juniors and seniors (10pt GPA boost)
    • Connect with other students and learn how to think critically in multiple subjects!
    • Learn new things, attend competitions, and meet other students from around the district.
    • Compete individually and as a team.
    • This year 100% of the class earned an A!

      

    What is Decathlon?

    • It is a competition with 10 events: 7 of the events are multiple choice tests in the subjects of Art, Economics, Literature, Math, Music, Science, Social Studies. The last 3 events are an essay, a speech, and an interview.
    • The team has to have 3 honor students, 3 scholastic students, and 3 varsity students.
    • GPA Categories:
      • HONORS: 3.80 – 4.00        SCHOLASTIC: 3.20 – 3.799          VARSITY: 0.00 – 3.199

     

    Requirements:

    • Must attend 3 competitions:
      • Practice meet: tentative date 11/09/24
      • District meet tentative date 12/5 & 12/7 2024
      • Regional meet: set date 1/24 & 1/25 2025

    Join our after school Academic Decathlon Club!

    Our first meeting is Thursday September 4th after school in room 2320. 

    Please email mariae.garcia@fortbendisd.gov if you are interested in joining so that you can be added to our Schoology page. 

    Our first competition will be at Dulles HS on Saturdat Nov. 15th from 8am to 4pm.
