Fee Waiver Eligibility Requirements and Regulations
What is a fee waiver? There are two types of fee waivers, SAT/ACT exam registration fee waivers and college application fee waivers.
How do I know if I am eligible for a fee waiver? To be eligible for fee waivers (exam registration or college application), the student must be enrolled in the FBISD free and reduced lunch (FRL) program. Free or reduced lunch program applications are available online through School Cafe.
ACT Fee Waiver
- Students may use a maximum of TWO separate ACT fee waivers
- Waivers may NOT be used for late registration fee; additional college choices; standby fee; test date, test option, or test center change fees
- The waiver is used once the student registers, submits a standby request, or is approved for special testing, even if the student does not test on the requested test date.
SAT Fee Waiver
- Students may use a maximum of TWO separate SAT fee waivers
- Students may use a maximum of TWO separate SAT Subject test fee waivers
- Waivers may NOT be used for late registration fee; additional college choices; standby fee; test date, test option, or test center change fees
- The waiver is used once the student registers, submits a standby request, or is approved for special testing, even if the student does not test on the requested test date.
- The fee waiver also entitles the student to four additional flexible score reports and a $40 discount off the regular price of The Official SAT Online Course
College Application Fee Waiver
If you took the ACT with a fee waiver and/or you qualify for free and reduced lunch
- You must either have taken the ACT with a fee waiver or qualify for free and reduced lunch to receive a college application fee waiver.
- Students may use a maximum of FOUR application fee waivers.
- You must submit your application to the college first before requesting a college application fee waiver.

If you took the SAT with a fee waiver
- If you took the SAT with a fee wavier you qualify for four application fee waivers.
- These waivers will be delivered online to you on your College Board account; you will get them the same time that you get your SAT scores.
- Students may use a maximum of FOUR application fee waivers.
- You must submit your application to the college first then print your application waiver from the college board site and mail it to the admissions office of your institution.

Procedure
- Fee Waiver requests will be processed within 2-3 business days. Be mindful of registration deadlines when making your requests; make requests in advance of deadlines.
