Dr. Afiesimama attended Indiana University [Blooming, Indiana], the University of Michigan [Ann-Arbor, Michigan] and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas A & M University [College Station, Texas]. Upon finishing her first degree, she enrolled at the University of Texas School of Public Health at the Medical Center [Houston, Texas] and completed a Masters in Public Health. Her quest for knowledge resulted in her enrolling at the University of Houston to pursue a Doctorate in Education, which she completed successfully.

 Her family's mantra "It is more honorable to serve for a living than to work for a living," has been a driving force in her life as an educator. She believes that with a heart to serve, she can make a difference in the lives of her students, colleagues and others within her sphere of influence. Currently, she is the sponsor for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes on campus [Dulles High school]. She has been a part of the Dulles Family for years and enjoys working at Dulles High School.
