My name is Brittany McCormick, and I am a 9th and 10th grade teacher! For seven years, I have been a proud member of the Dulles Viking family. I grew up in the Houston area, and I enjoy the diverse community of Fort Bend ISD. I earned a B.A. in Mass Communications at East Texas Baptist University. My husband and I have been married nearly 10 years. We have two young boys named Lucas and Mason, and we have a dog named Tulsa. I enjoy spending time with family, reading, and watching TV. In addition to teaching, I coach JV Cheer.
I became a teacher because I remember being a student, and I knew the impact a teacher could have. My most memorable teacher, Mrs. Hamilton, sparked my love for reading when she gave me a copy of Stellaluna by Janell Cannon. I believe that the right book can spark your love for reading. Early in college, my idea of reading and purpose for reading changed again when a professor recommended Autobiography of a Face by Lucy Grealy. I am so glad to be a part of your educational journey.
My goal is to inspire and equip all my students to do so much more than they could ever imagine. I am excited about the school year! Go VIKINGS!
