I have been a high school art teacher since 2001.  Yes, my first month of teaching was 9/11.  But, things settled down after that.  After completing an internship year at Cesar Chavez High School, I spent the bulk of my teaching career at Bellaire High School in Houston Independent School District.  I have taught almost every sort of art class from all levels of drawing and painting, sculpture, jewelry, and digital art & animation.

Teaching students to love making is what gets me up in the morning.  I have done it for a long time and am pretty good at it.  I love teaching students who have never drawn anything that they can do it with proper instruction and perseverance.  I love teaching experienced students to grow and learn more - increase in skill and creativity.  It is the best part of being a teacher.
