• The purpose of the National English Honor Society is to confer distinction upon high school students for high achievement in English language arts; provide, through its local chapters, cultural stimulation in high school environments; encourage interest in the English language arts; promote exemplary character and good fellowship among its members; and serve society by fostering literacy.
