Mr. Barker is the Technical Director at Dulles High School. He began teaching in 2023 and joined DHS in 2024. 

He is originally from East Texas, where he graduated from Edgewood High School. His love for theatre started at a young age. Mr. Barker remembers acting in church plays when he was younger. When he entered high school, he participated in UIL OAP, Musicals, and the school theatre club. In college, he took part in several devised works, including a play about the incredible life of Dr. Hector P. Garcia.  In May 2023, he graduated from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi, where he received a BFA in Acting/Directing with a teaching certificate. He was drawn to teaching because he saw a need for passionate educators who strive to shape future generations. Mr. Barker believes the Fine Arts, especially theatre, can assist in molding students into open-minded individuals, who are empathetic and willing to take chances. He is excited about beginning this upcoming year!

Outside of teaching, Mr. Barker likes reading new plays and watching movies. When he has time, he enjoys cooking and discovering new food spots around town.
