The Dulles High School Orchestra program has a national reputation for musical excellence.  Students have the opportunity to perform in large ensembles, chamber ensembles and solos, in competitive and non-competitive environments.  As a large program, there are multiple orchestra classes suitable for all skill levels, determined by audition.  All activities are available to all students regardless of orchestra placement.

The orchestra program provides students with leadership and social opportunities in addition to quality music making and technical instruction.  Peer to peer leadership and the relationships formed through orchestra are instrumental to the success of the program.  The skills learned in orchestra such as responsibility, communication, teamwork and good citizenship transfer to other classes and eventually to their adult lives, college and the workplace.

The Dulles Orchestra program strives to be more than an outstanding musical ensemble.  We believe in the strength of the community and provide an environment for all students to belong and achieve.

Through orchestra, students will perform great music, improve technically and musically, have leadership opportunities and social interaction with students from all grade levels  and orchestras.  The orchestra family provides a safe, enjoyable environment for our students.
