• RPHS COURSE SELECTION

All levels of both languages have the goal of using the target language 90% + every day. This does NOT mean the teacher speaking or signing in ASL, Spanish, French, German, or Chinese for 90% of the time, but that 90% + of every class will revolve around hearing,  reading, speaking, writing, viewing, signing in the target language.

Only through such consistent use can we achieve our communicative goals.

    FRENCH:

RPHS offers levels 1 through IV AP for French courses.

    • All students are required to take 2 years of foreign language, but many colleges want to see three (3) years.
    • French offers one AP test; level IV AP is French Language and Culture.
    • Students are eligible for induction into the French National Honor Society while taking French III AAC or French IV AP.
    • Any student who has successfully completed level 1 at a middle school should enroll in French 2.
    • We also have a French Club, open to all students, regardless of whether or not they take French.
