Hello! Thank you for visiting my page. I earned a Bachelor's in music at Sam Houston State University, and a Master's in Opera Performance at Wichita State University. Originally from Los Angeles, CA, I've called Houston home since 2016, when I began teaching choir at the public school level. My teaching philosophy is centered on the belief that all people are deserving of a high-quality and well-rounded music education. Through the exploration of exciting music, we learn and practice time management, teamwork, problem-solving, and how to work toward long-term goals. In addition to placing great focus on music literacy skills and age-appropriate vocal development, creating and maintaining a positive and fun classroom environment is one of my deliberate goals as an educator. I've been at Ridge Point HS since 2021 and have had the privilege of conducting our beginner treble choir, the intermediate treble choir, and the beginner tenor-bass choir. All choirs under my direction have consistently earned Division I scores and sweepstakes at UIL, as well as performances of distinction awards at Kemah Choir Days Choir Festival. Lastly, part of my continuing journey as a music educator for me has meant being an active performing artist in the Houston area. In addition to being a church musician, I have performed as a member of the Houston Grand Opera Chorus and other regionally recognized ensembles.
