Hola, my name is Maria Kennett.  As the daughter of a US diplomat, I grew up overseas throughout the world, from Central and South America to the Middle East and Asia. I graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans with a degree in International Business and a degree in Marketing. In 2005, my husband Jay, my daughter Carmen, my son Jay J and I relocated to Sugar Land.  I discovered my true calling to become a teacher in 2010 after receiving my Alternative Certification in Spanish.  I transfer my knowledge of the Spanish language and culture, experiences in the business world and discoveries of my travels to my teaching.  My goal is for my students to experience the wonders of the Spanish language and culture and realize the value of learning Spanish, no matter what career path they decide to take. I am often asked why I decided to teach Spanish…the answer is simple, it affords me the opportunity to do something I love, teach my students a skill that they can carry with them forever and inspire my students in their views of the world around them.
