Welcome to freshman English! As you begin your first year at Ridge Point High School, it is my goal to provide you with a deeper understanding and appreciation of literature and the principles of writing.  This is an introductory course that is designed to help students gain the foundational skills necessary for success as they start their academic journey and continue to explore the study of English throughout their high school career. 

I have been teaching English for almost 20 years, starting my career in New York and later joining the Ridge Point faculty in 2018.  As an educator, I have taught a myriad of courses including English I, English II, English III, English IV, AP Language & Composition, AP Literature & Composition, and Introduction to Film Studies.  In addition to my experience, I earned a B.A. in English and an M.A. in English/Secondary Education after working in the corporate sector in Human Resources and Public Relations.

Besides teaching, I love reading--mostly fiction, but you will catch me with the occasional memoir, autobiography, or reference text!— watching movies, and spending time with my family.  I look forward to working with you and hope that the rest of this year will be a challenging and productive experience.
