Mr. Due
I am a happy new member of the Ridge Point Team. Before coming to Ridge Point, I taught German and World History for ten years at Pasadena ISD. In 2022, I am looking forward to starting a new German Program here at Ridge Point which will eventually include German I-III and AP German IV. The World Language program at Fort Bend ISD has a long tradition of excellence with a strong foundation in contemporary language pedagogy, which boasts highly accomplished German Programs at Clements and Travis High School.
I took German in high school and spent my junior year in Germany as a foreign exchange student. My exposure to German culture and language was a truly profound experience that cemented my lifelong passion for language and history. I continued to study German at the University of Houston, where I earned my degree in German Studies. After graduation, I began working as a translator and interpreter for a Houston-based language services company, before becoming a teacher twelve years ago. At PISD, I took over and expanded the German program there. I have since earned my MA in Curriculum and Instruction from WGU.
I believe learning a language should be an immersive experience that comprises extracurricular activities such as annual competitions, community engagement, class trips abroad, and exchange programs such as GAPP. I enjoy providing the opportunity for students to experience, appreciate, and understand different cultures through the learning of a new language.
