Freshmen Boot Camp
Orientation 2024
Jul 22-23, 2024 (8:00am - 4:00pm)
Attention all 8th Graders (incoming Freshmen):
Travis High School JROTC will be holding its annual orientation/boot camp from Jul 22-23, 2024 (8:00 am - 4:00 pm)
Students will learn about Marine Corps leadership, close order drill (marching), and physical training.
This training is NOT mandatory but will help prepare students for the upcoming year in the JROTC.
All Freshmen parents are invited to their cadet's graduation on Tuesday, Jul 23rd at 5:00 pm at the school. Refreshments will be provided.
The camp is FREE. The JROTC will provide food each day.

Who Gains from MCJROTC?
The Cadet: The MCJROTC Program helps develop the self confidence and self discipline that young adults need to grow and succeed as young adults.
The Community: The MCJROTC Program encourages participation in community events and projects. The program encourages civic duty and responsibility.
What does MCJROTC Teach?
Leadership skills, instruction of good habits and attitudes, problem-solving techniques, characteristics for success, civic and group leadership and accountability. Military organization and orientation classes teach Marine Corps customs, courtesies and traditions.
MCJROTC is an environment where students can make life-lasting friendships, and receive mentorship from great instructors.
