Mrs. Kaylene Schliesser

Hello! My name is Kaylene Schliesser, and I am a Culinary Arts instructor here at the James Reese Career and Technical Center.

I'm a proud product of Fort Bend ISD where I attended Townewest Elementary, Sugar Land Middle School (we called it "junior high" way back then), Clements High School (as a freshman before KHS was built), and Kempner High School. Wow, has Sugar Land grown! I have the great fortune to have two children, one who has graduated and the other who is a junior in Fort Bend ISD.

I really enjoy teaching, reading, cooking and baking, and discussing history. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught all levels of World History, was a 9th grade AVID elective teacher, served as an assistant swim coach, and was an Instructional Technology Specialist for Fort Bend ISD for five years. I returned to the classroom in 2008 and have been loving it ever since!! I have been a College Board reader for AP World History and AP European history for four years. I graduated from culinary school in 2021 and have been blessed with the opportunity to apply my culinary skills in the classroom at Reese. As I embark on my new journey in culinary instruction, I feel well prepared to meet the needs of my students in the culinary arts as well as support their academic learning.
