Hello! My name is Kaylene Schliesser and I am teaching World History and AP World History this year!!!

I'm a proud product of Fort Bend ISD where I attended Townewest Elementary, Sugar Land Middle School (we called it "junior high" way back then), Clements High School (as a freshman before KHS was built), and Kempner High School. Wow, has Sugar Land grown! I have the great fortune to have two children, one who graduated in 2022 and is living in Philly and a daughter who graduated from FBISD last spring and will attend UTD this fall. My husband is also a teacher in the district.

I really enjoy teaching, reading, cooking and baking, and discussing history. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught all levels of World History, was a 9th grade AVID elective teacher at Hightower (c. 2000-2003), served as an assistant swim coach, and was an Instructional Technology Specialist for Fort Bend ISD for five years. I returned to the classroom at Clements High School in 2008 where I left in 2022 to teach Culinary Arts at the Reese Center. I continue to read for the College Board for AP European History, but have also read for AP World History.
