Mr. Garrett Tagliabue
Garrett Tagliabue is currently in his 11th year of teaching and his 4th year as the Percussion Director for the William B. Travis High School feeder pattern in Fort Bend ISD. Mr. Tagliabue grew up in Richmond, TX and attended school as a student in the Lamar CISD system, graduating from Foster High School in 2009. He then attended Sam Houston State University and graduated with his Bachelor of Music degree in 2014. During his time at SHSU, Mr. Tagliabue studied percussion with Dr. John Lane and briefly marched in DCI with the Crossmen in 2012. After finishing his degree, Mr. Tagliabue began his career in Copperas Cove, teaching at the junior high level for one year and at the high school level for three years. While in Copperas Cove, Mr. Tagliabue directed the Concert Band, Marching Band, and Percussion Ensemble. He also taught 6th grade beginner percussion classes every day and visited 7th and 8th grade percussion students regularly. After his time in Copperas Cove, he worked as an assistant band director at Travis High School for three years before transitioning into his role as the Percussion Director for Travis High School and Bowie Middle School.
Mr. Tagliabue and his wife, who is a theatre teacher in Katy ISD, have been married for 9 years. They have a daughter together named Aria who was born in December of 2021. They also live with an 8-year old Golden Doodle named Bonnie.
