Mrs. Windowmaker

A little bit about me. I am a graduate of the University of Central Florida, Western State Colorado University, and Alaska Pacific University. I hold a Masters in Teaching and an MFA in Creative Writing. I am not a native Texan. I have been here for only two years. I am from Anchorage, Alaska, where I've lived most of my life. This is my tenth year teaching. In Alaska, I  have been a boys basketball coach, head track coach, ran a student-run coffee shop, recycling program and have acted as department chair. I've taught 7th/8th grade English for 8 years. I taught 6th grade elementary on JBER military base. I have experience running school-wide spelling bees, whole school recycling programs, creative writing club, and many other activities. I also teach Junior College night classes at HCC. Prior to teaching, I worked as a copy editor for literary magazines. I am married with two kids and a dog named Jack. I spend my time outside of school reading, writing, cycling, and just hanging out with my kids.
