Bonjour! Bonjour! Bonjour!. Welcome to FRENCH! I do hope you enjoy my class. I like to make the lessons engaging with lots of talking and various other ways of practicing the language; therefore, class participation is a must.
I love teaching languages as well as learning other languages and about other cultures. In my class you should expect the following type of activities: Writing, Speaking, Listening Comprehension, Reading Comprehension, vocabulary games, and verb conjugation games.
I have been working at Travis H.S. since the building opened in 2007; I love our campus and the new colors and designs it has. I taught Spanish for 12 years and this year will be my third year teaching French; a dream come true for me!. My interest in the French language began when I was in High School, just like you!. I then continued learning the language in college here in the United States and in (Quebec) Canada. I also put my new learned language to use while working in France at L'Office de Tourisme in Bourges.
I have a Bachelor degree from the University of Houston and a Master degree from the University of St.Thomas. In the near future I hope to continue my studies by pursuing a Doctor of Modern Languages degree.
I have two gorgeous boys (one starting First grade and the other starting High School). I practice all three languages with them (French, Spanish, English) in hope to foster the same love for languages.
Last, I serve as a Military Police Officer in the Texas Army National Guard (Captain Bolanos). I enjoy both teaching and serving in the military....helping others, protecting those in need, speaking foreign languages, playing the violin, and dancing are all my passion!
Thank you for taking the time to read a little about me. Have a blessed day!
