• Travis High School established the SHF chapter for the first time in 2008 (by the French teacher at the time Mme Dorothy Cox), the chapter was reinstituted in 2013 (by then French teacher Mme Nadia Chihani), and later the chapter was reintegrated to active in 2020 (by now French teacher Mme Bolanos). 

    The name of this reinstituted chapter is: “the Cox and Chihani chapter “ in honor of our retired FBISD French teacher Madame Dorothy Cox, who was the first French teacher at Travis, teaching from 2006 until her retirement in 2015, and in memory of Madame Nadia Chihani, the second French teacher at our school from 2015 until 2017.   

    Our chapter motto:   Crème de la crème!

  • ELIGIBILITY:

    THS Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors who have met SHF (Société Honoraire de Français) criteria will receive an invitation letter in January.  Taking French 3 and/or French 4 is mandatory for all members.

    Induction ceremony for those students who accept the invitation and complete the required application will take place in late February.
