    November 4, 2024 PTA Letter

    Greetings Mustang Family and Friends! 

    There has been some time since our last message, but your PTA is still very active. 
     
    What has your PTA been doing?
    Our activities for October– We celebrated Principal's Month by delivering Breakfast from Oliver's Gourmet on October 15, 2024, and wings from The Wing Boss on October 9, 2024. We also ordered commemorative Lake Olympia Sweaters for each principal. 
     
    For our students - We provided snacks for Mrs. Duhart's after-school tutorials on October 1st & 3rd, 2024. Snacks for the 8th Grade class PSAT testing session on October 23rd, 2024, and chips for the PBIS celebration of Character on October 18, 2024. 
     
    Finally, for our faculty, we have celebrated their hard work over the last nine weeks on October 31st, 2024 by delivering pretzels and popcorn for their classroom stash, while hosting a self-serve "Nacho Average Teacher" nacho bar. 
    What is the PTA doing now?
    Now, we are currently hosting "Phill the Box" at our campus. In this fundraiser, Mustang families fill the box with gently used clothing, shoes and accessories throughout the clothing drive fundraiser. The boxes are located at the rear of the school, near the walking track. Get rid of the clutter before the New Year and support Lake O at the same time!  For each pound of clothing donated, the school earns 20 cents. There will be additional information sent out about this fundraiser in a separate email.
     
    How can I help? Where do I fit in?
    Feel free to participate in the "Phill the Box". Basketball season is upon us. There is a link below to sign up to volunteer concessions. On Saturday, 11/16/2024, Lake O is hosting a basketball tournament, a perfect opportunity for the family to serve.  We are currently in need of parents who desire to assist with the 8th grade activities planning committee. If you are interested, please email lakeopta@gmail.com with "8th Grade Parent" in the subject line. If you have any suggestions on service or volunteer opportunity, please feel free to share.
