Crystal Y. Dillard is a 17-year veteran teacher with the Houston Independent School District and a native Houstonian. She is currently a U.S. History teacher at Lake Olympia School in FBISD where she holds the additional designations as department chairperson as well as new teacher mentor.  She has been recognized in her career as a teacher leader in each of her previous positions, and has been commended for her success in leading students to exemplary levels of performance. She is especially proud of her ability to help guide and mentor students from economically challenged backgrounds to success in middle school, high school, and beyond. In her spare-time she enjoys running, power walking, antiquing, and watching home improvement shows with her family.
