I am thrilled to be the librarian and serve both teachers and students with library resources to create a learning hub where resources can best facilitate student achievement.
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and grew up in FBISD attending Hodges Bend Middle School and Kempner High School. I attended the University of Houston where I earned a Bachelor of the Arts degree in English from the University of Houston Summa Cum Laude. I graduated with a Master of Library Science degree from Texas Woman's University in May of 2015 with a 4.0 GPA. I started working on another master's degree, in Kinesiology, in 2018 and plan on graduating in the summer of 2021.
I have nine years of experience teaching secondary English Language Arts. Eight of my years of teaching experience have been in FBISD, teaching 8th, 10th, and 11th grade ELA. I also have 16 years of experience instructing ice/figure skating for all ages. I hope to use my experience in education and teaching to best serve the Lake Olympia population.
Some of my hobbies include figure skating, reading, traveling and baking. I have a passion for nutrition, physical fitness, human rights advocacy, and environmental protection. I am also fluent in basic conversational Mandarin Chinese.
