FORT BEND ISD (March 10, 2017) – Kindergarten registration dates for the 2017-18 school year have been set for Fort Bend ISD elementary schools. Beginning Monday, April 3, parents of eligible kindergarten students can begin the first step of the enrollment process using the student online registration system. A link for online registration will be provided on the District’s website beginning Monday, April 3. Parents are able to complete step one from their home computer, mobile device, a public library computer or a computer that will be made available at the campus. To access the new student online registration system, parents will need to have an email address to quickly create the account.
After completing online registration, parents must contact their zoned campus to set an appointment to complete the enrollment process. Appointments will be from 8:30-2:30 April 10-13 and April 11 from 5:00-7:00. In order to ensure adequate staffing, resources and student placement, it is imperative that parents register their kindergarten student during this enrollment window timeframe.
To register for kindergarten, a child must be five (5) years of age on or before September 1.
Parents must bring the following required documents to register their child:
· Child’s birth certificate or its equivalent
· Immunization records
· Social Security card (If unavailable, a state ID number will be assigned)
· Proof of residence, including a deed, lease or mortgage agreement
· A current utility bill (gas, water or electric)
· A government issued photo ID of the student’s parent or guardian, which provides their FBISD address (Current TX Driver’s License/ID Card)
For more information regarding kindergarten registration, contact the school in which your child will enroll. If you would like to verify attendance boundaries for your home address, please use the “Let’s Talk” feature located on the District’s website, using the “Attendance Boundaries” interest area. Be sure to include your name, address, and the grade your child(ren) will enter at the start of the 2017-18 school year.
Spring break will be from March 13th-17th. Classes will resume on March 20th. Have a fun spring break!
Our online yearbook store is finally up and running! This will be the very first, inaugural yearbook for our school! Yearbooks are on sale for $40.00, and we have a limited supply! The price will go up in March to $45.00. You can buy the yearbook only or add on other fun accessories that the kids enjoy on the day they get autographs from their classmates. We have limited inventory so be sure to buy soon!! Once we are sold out, you cannot get a yearbook. This even includes teachers and staff! Do not let your child miss out on the fun of getting their yearbook signed by all their friends and teachers! They will keep the yearbook to look back on memories for years to come!
It is very simple to purchase a yearbook- go to www.balfour.com and search for “Sullivan Elementary School” in Sugar Land. From there, click on the yearbook icon, and it will direct you to the checkout process. This will secure that your child will receive a yearbook. Yearbooks will be delivered towards the end of the school year in May.
We are encouraging online yearbook sales, but if you do have issues purchasing online, payment can be made with cash or a check made out to ASE PTA with YEARBOOK in the memo line. Drop all cash and checks to Donna Alotta at the front office window in a sealed envelope labeled "YEARBOOK". Or email me, Laura, directly at ASEyearbook2016@gmail.com with any questions, and I will make alternate arrangements with you directly. Please do not send yearbook orders/payments in your child’s backpack or folders! We will not be held responsible for any lost order or payments that are not made online or given to myself or Donna directly.
In addition, if any of the fifth grade parents would like to purchase a dedication to their fifth grader to be printed in the yearbook, the cost will be $35.00. Payments need to be made out to ASE PTA with “dedication” in the memo line. You will need to drop the payment in the form of cash or check at the front office with your name, email address, and phone number included. Please email a high quality picture and a written dedication to your child to ASEyearbook2016@gmail.com. Dedications must be around 35 words or less. If you do not have a digital photo file, please include a hard copy photograph and written dedication in the envelope along with your payment. (However, please do not expect the photo to be returned unless special arrangements are made.)
The Beautification Committee will be decorating the library and the front entrance at ASE for the holidays, and they need your help! They are in need of Hobby Lobby and Michael’s gift cards to help purchase decorations. If you can help purchase a gift card (in any amount!), please drop off the gift card at the ASE front desk. Playdates in the Park: Dads bring your kids for a morning of fun at the Riverstone Club playground! Scheduled playdates: December 10th, February 11th, and April 8th from 8:30 to 10 am.
Dads Opening Doors: Dads pick a Friday morning to help open carpool car doors in the carpool line between 7:30 and 8:10 am. Pick any Friday you are available and wear your Dad’s Club t-shirt!
Playground Players: Sign up for Friday recess to play games with ASE students on the ASE playground. Times are as follows: K- 2nd grade: 9:30- 11:30 am, 3rd- 5th grade: 11:15 am- 1:15 pm.
Spring Carwash: Dads bring your kids to the ASE parking lot to help wash ASE staff cars on April 29th. Time TBA.
