My name is Laura Byrd.  This is my fourteenth year teaching.  I taught second grade in Alief, at Boone Elementary for three years.  Subsequently, I took a ten year hiatus from teaching to stay home and raise my children. When I came back, I began working in Fort Bend ISD at Commonwealth Elementary. 

This is my ninth year at Anne Sullivan Elementary; I started working at Anne Sullivan when the school opened.  Some of you may know me from my years as a second grade teacher. I have moved to fourth grade and I love it!

I have been very happily married for 29 years.  We have a son named Dylan who is in college.  I also have son, Austin, that is a senior in high school and plays water polo at Elkins High School. Finally, I have a daughter, Julia starting high school this year..  My hobbies are yoga, reading, going to the movies, & spending time with my family.

This is going to be a fantastic year!
