Hello! My name is Maris Payne.I am so excited about teaching fourth grade again this year!

It brings me so much joy to collaborate with my students and guide them to success. I am looking forward to fostering positive relationships with my students, and creating an environment full of love, diversity, imagination, and creativity. It is my goal to get involved with my community to ensure the growth of your child in their education. We are going to make a great team this year!

A little bit about me...

I am originally from a small town in Oklahoma called Checotah (if you know Carrie Underwood, this is where she is from too!), but I have lived in Houston since I was 10 years old. I graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown in 2019 and earned my Bachelors Degree in Business. I obtained cum laude honors, GO COOGS! I began my teaching career during the 2020-21 school year. Being a part of the Dalmatian Nation is a dream come true, and I am so excited to continue my teaching career as part of ASE's "litter"! I have two kittens, Hachi and Ducky. I love reading, playing games, being in nature, shopping, teaching, and spending time with my loved ones. This year I am looking forward to growing, learning, and sharing new ideas with my class and making this year AMAZING!
