Meet the Principal
-
Welcome to Anne Sullivan Elementary where we inspire and equip all learners with the skills and self-confidence to become leaders of their own learning. I am excited and honored to be the principal of Anne Sullivan Elementary. My goal is to provide a culture and environment where all students and staff learn with pride, lead with confidence, and inspire to impact the lives of others.
I have had the great privilege of being an educator since 1986. I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching, followed by my Master of Education from the University of Houston. I was proudly named Teacher of the Year in 1999, and served as the English Language Arts Department Chair, while teaching at Fort Settlement Middle School. Finally, I was truly humbled when I was named as the District's Elementary Principal of the Year in 2016.
I am a proud wife and mother. My husband, Russ and I enjoy raising our only daughter in the Sugar Land Community. We have one yellow lab, one white lab, and two cats. When I am not enjoying my time at school with our incredible staff and students you will find me training for events such as marathons and the Ironman. I firmly believe that balance is a critical factor in being healthy in today’s society.
It is my belief that parents and the community are partners in the educational process and that it takes a village to raise children. Building positive relationships with students and community members is important to me. Your voice is important also, so please feel free to always share your thoughts, ideas and suggestions. I am excited and thrilled to be able to serve the Riverstone Community as the principal of Anne McCormick Sullivan. Together our students will learn, inspire and lead.
