Hello and welcome to FIRST GRADE! My name is Kavita Patel. I was born and raised in Chicago and am a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. I met my husband in college, have been married for 13 years and are the proud parents of 2 amazing sons, aged 9 and 11. This will be my 4th year with FBISD at Palmer Elementary!  I am proud to be a part of Palmer because it provides so many opportunities for diverse learners to succeed.

It will be an exciting and challenging year with new learning and new experiences. I believe that children are special and unique in their own way and as a teacher, I enjoy working with each child’s learning style to meet his or her own potential. I love to teach and I love seeing my first graders’ smiling faces each day.
