ALL ABOUT MRS. JOHNSON

Greetings Palmer Fifth Graders and Families! I can’t wait to see all of your smiling faces!  I am thrilled to be a part of your student’s educational journey this year. Fifth grade is a pivotal grade for students, as they transition from elementary to middle school. They are also expected to become more independent as they tackle rigorous, engaging content , dig deeper into reading comprehension, and think analytically.

Now I’d like to provide more information that lets you know a little more about Mrs. Johnson. I am from Ohio. I am a Retired Navy Spouse and a Navy Mom. I have two adult sons, two adult daughters, and six grandchildren. I have had the pleasure of moving around during my husband’s military career and we have lived in  sunny Florida, both Pensacola and Tampa, and  in Pearland (twice). 

I have been teaching for the past 18 years and 12 of those years with Alvin ISD. Over the years, I’ve taught Third, Fourth, and Fifth grade. I have been Self-Contained (3rd and 4th grade), and have taught many diversely-needed learners, from Gifted and Talented to those requiring individualized needs. 

Aside from teaching, I love to cook (Food Network is one of my favorite channels!), shop, go to the beach, travel, and attend sporting events.

 I am very dedicated to my student’s  education and their progress. I will do my best to teach them as much as possible to help them achieve their academic best, build confidence in themselves, and challenge them through engaging content.
