I've been at Palmer for 8 years that includes my final semester of student teaching. I graduated from the University of Houston, Downtown. I started my career in corporate America for 20 years, but I always knew in my heart ever since I was a child that I wanted to be a teacher. I went back to school and received my degree in education. I was older than some of my classmates. Through the program I had the opportunity to observe great teachers along with student teaching in three different districts and my third district was Fort Bend. I completed my last semester of student teaching at Palmer and I'm still here! It was a great honor to be named Palmer's Teacher of the Year 2016-2017. Sometimes you have to go down several paths before finding the path that you should really and truly be on. I finally got on that path that I knew I was meant to be on.
I am the youngest of four children, one being my twin brother. I have nine nephews, three nieces, five great nephews and five great nieces. I love being around family and enjoy every moment I get to spend with them!
I love my job as a teacher because I believe it is so important that every child has the opportunity to learn and to learn something new everyday. I see something great in each and every child I cross paths with. Everyday I do my best to make learning fun, interesting and exciting for my students. If the children I teach every day see how excited I am about teaching them, I know that they will be excited about their learning. Children love to have fun, so why not have fun learning.
