Greetings Heritage Rose Elementary families and students!

I am entering my 20th year in public education (11 as a teacher) and 2nd year at HRE.  I am excited to say that your child will be in the only self-contained 4th grade class in 4th grade!  This means they will not switch teachers for different subjects, I will teach all academic subjects. I feel very lucky to get to know the same 22 kids and spend the day with only them.  We will get to learn, grow and support each other every day.

When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my own children and husband.  I have 2 boys, who are also enrolled in FBISD. I love to go to the beach, be outdoors, watch my boys play baseball, swim and watch movies!  I also love to laugh and have fun with my students and family.

The theme this year at HRE is “We’re on a Safari for Success”.  Given the reality of the pandemic, I believe it is very fitting.  Like on a real safari, expect the unexpected.  While I will not know all the answers about what this year will bring, trust that I am your guide on this journey.  I will look out for my students and families so that we are all successful with online and in-class learning.  I am here to help and happy to do so.

  • We're Wild About Learning

We will begin the 2020 - 2021 school year with virtual learning.  Please note this school year will be far more structured in FBISD. We will have a mix of live teaching (synchronous learning) and "work on your own" (asychronous learning). Participation and work completion is expected daily. Numerical grades will be taken for progress reports and report cards. Students are expected to be engaged in learning (synchronous/asynchronous) 8:10 - 3:25.
