Hello! My name is Patty Croskrey. I am the math specialist for Anne Sullivan Elementary!
I began my teaching career in 2001 teaching 3rd grade, and then taught 5th grade for 7 years. I have been a math specialist with Fort Bend ISD since 2010, and I really do think I have the best job anyone can have. I get to work with children and teachers, and play with math all day long!
As a math specialist I co-teach and model lessons, work with students in classrooms, assist teachers with lesson planning, and help teachers with data to drive their instruction. I also work with teachers to find the most effective resources and strategies to deepen student understanding of math concepts.
I graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown in 2001 with a degree in Education, specializing in Math (the best subject!). I finished the Master Math Teacher program at the University of Houston in 2013 and then completed my graduate degree in Math Curriculum and Instruction in 2014. The work was amazing! Go Coogs!
Teaching is a second career for me. In my “previous life”, I was a banker and a stay-at-home mom (another really great job!). I have two sons, Kyle and David, and I have been very happily married to my husband, Kevin, for 35 years. We also have a four legged baby in our family, a German Shepherd named Saxon. I love to play golf, the Astros and the Texans, cooking, gardening, and spending time with friends and family.
