          • Host Families Needed

            Dear Bush HS Parents,

We have an exciting opportunity to host students from China this coming fall.  For the last five years, Fort Bend ISD has hosted a delegation of about 20 students and 5 educators from Foshan, China, for two weeks. This year our visitors are being hosted by Bush and Austin—each school hosts about 10 students.  The purpose of the visit is for a cultural exchange.  The delegation stays in the homes of host families and attends school with our host students for several days throughout the two weeks and will also be taken on a few field trips into the community and region.  The district will also provide some evening activities, such as a day at NASA, a football game, and welcome and farewell dinners. Host families are also encouraged to include their hosted student in family activities and may take their student out to eat or to sites and activities in the community during the evenings and on the weekend during their two week stay.  This is a wonderful opportunity to build a lifelong friendship.  Many of our students who host also apply to be a part of the delegation, which goes to China annually.

We are looking for 18 families that are willing and able to host a student for the two-week stay—September 23-October 6, 2018.  We ask that each host family have at least a separate bed, preferably a separate bedroom, to host a student and the ability to get them to and from school and activities. Students who ride the bus will be given clearance for their hosted student to ride the bus to/from school as well.  If you are able to host, each parent or guardian in the household will need to submit the volunteer background check form (must be submitted annually after July 31).

Please click on this link to get started-

If you are interested in hosting or have questions, please contact Anthony Yim, Assistant Principal at 281-634-6067 or as soon as possible.

You may also contact Mr. Mike Madden, Coordinator of Student Leadership at 281-634-1606 or Mike.

We look forward to having the students hosted by great Bronco Families!
