Ms. Michelle Bradford

Hello parents and students. My name is Michelle Bradford. I have been at Austin High School since 2020, but with FBISD since 2013. I am the high school FLaSH Teacher and JV Cheer Coach at AHS. I am a proud graduate and alumni of the University of Central Arkansas where I majored in Nursing and minored in Health Education with Bachelor's Degree and currently working to finish my Graduate Degree in Healthcare Administration. Yes, I have a very extensive background in the medical field and hold many certifications/diplomas. My career change to get into education on a academic level, came after having my first and only child in 2004 and when I began working with youth and adolescents at Methodist Behavioral Hospital as a Behavioral Specialist and Birch Tree Communities as a Case Manager and Recovery Advocate, and the Youth Director at my church, back home in Arkansas. I noticed with parents working, our youth still needed assistance with school work, nurtrition, guidance, positive role model, and healthy activities that "it takes a Village was needed".  I received my chance at teaching at the Behavioral Hospital. Later, I became a long term substitute for North Little Rock School District in Arkansas. During the summer of 2013, I relocated to Houston, Texas, where I worked with the Alief YMCA at their after school program and Cheerleader Coach. In November, I was hired as a long term substitute teacher with FBISD, which inspired me to pursued my teaching certification through Texas Teachers Alternative Certificate Program in Health and Special Education EC-12. I've been loving this career and enjoy being part of this "It takes a village" for today's youth.

My motto is  "If I only reach one in the Village, my job is done."
