Hello everyone and welcome to George Bush High School!

My name is Luqman Bisiriyu, and I am one of the Math teachers in GBHS. I will be responsible for teaching you Algebra 1.

A little about myself: I was born in Nigeria, lived there for twenty-six years, then moved to Houston, Texas, where I went to Houston Community College and got my associate of science degree. Next, I got my undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in Geophysics, minoring in Math, from the University of Houston (Main Campus) in 2009. I decided to pursue getting a master’s degree and graduated with a Master of Science in Geophysics from the University of Houston (Main Campus) in 2018. I completed my graduate certification program in Math from the University of Houston (Downtown Campus) in August of 2022. I have been working ever since I came to Houston, working full-time and doing part-time studying. I have worked in various industries, like manufacturing, and oil and gas.

Some hobbies I enjoy doing when I have time include listening to music, watching movies and TV, and most importantly sleeping. I enjoy rooting for all the H-Town sports teams: Houston Texans, Houston Rockets, Houston Dynamo, Houston Cougars and Houston Astros.
