Mr. McGuire is in his eleventh year as Percussion Director at George Bush High School, where he is in charge of the marching and concert percussion programs including: drumline, front ensemble, solos, and percussion ensemble. In addition to Bush High School, he teaches percussion at Hodges Bend Middle School and Crockett Middle School.

Mr. McGuire attended the University of Houston where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. While at the University of Houston, he performed with many ensembles, including: the Moore's School of Music Wind Ensemble, Moore's Symphony Orchestra, Moore's Opera Center, the Spirit of Houston (SOH) Drumline, and the Moore's School Percussion Ensemble (MSPE).

As a member of the MSPE Mr. McGuire performed a Showcase Concert at the 2006 Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC), recorded the internationally released album "Wood and Metal Music" in 2007, and competed with the SOH Indoor Drumline at the 2008 PASIC Marching Percussion Festival.

In 2007 Mr. McGuire was a member of the Front Ensemble for the 7-time DCI World Champion Santa Clara Vanguard from Santa Clara, California.
