Ms. Flores
Ayvlis Flores is honored to serve as our Associate Director of Bands at George Bush High School in Richmond, Texas. A proud native of Rio Grande City, Texas, she earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Baylor University, where she cultivated a passion for instrumental music and ensemble leadership.
Throughout her musical journey, Flores has had the privilege of performing with the Baylor Symphonic Band and Clarinet Choir, experiences that deepened her musicianship and refined her approach to ensemble performance. Specializing in woodwinds, she brings a strong foundation in instrumental pedagogy, along with a commitment to technical excellence and artistic expression among her students.
Her undergraduate studies provided a rich and immersive education, further enhanced by her student teaching experience at Midway High School under the mentorship of Pam Hyatt. This opportunity allowed her to refine her teaching philosophy, develop effective rehearsal strategies, and gain invaluable hands-on experience working with high school musicians.
Outside of music and teaching, Flores enjoys watching movies, spending time with friends and family, and playing with her cat, Max.
