Quill and Scroll

  • Quill and Scroll is the international journalism high school honor society, founded in 1926. The George Bush High School chapter was founded in 2018.  Quill and Scroll recognizes leadership and exemplary performance from journalism students nationwide through contests and college scholarship opportunities. Students can earn a letter jacket and/or an honor cord to wear onstage at graduation 

    PurposeTo encourage, support, and recognize individual student initiative and achievement in scholastic journalism.

    Members are invited to join based on the following:

    • All sophomores, juniors or seniors who have a 3.00 cumulative GPA or higher, are currently enrolled in a journalism class, have consistently maintained a “B” average or better in that class, and have received a nomination from a journalism teacher for superior work or contributions to the school will be eligible to join.
    • All new members must pay a national initiation fee of $25 within two weeks of the induction ceremony in order to be in good standing.

    Meetings: Monthly on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
