Welcome All!

I am Ms. Halstead, and what a joy it is to have you in my classroom. This is my first official year teaching, but I am no stranger to GBHS. I am Bronco Alum, class of 2019! I have had the opportunity of teaching here as a long-term substitute for the 23-24 school year, and I am happy to be back!

I attended Sam Houston State University, where I received my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology, with a minor in Psychology and General Business. Eat 'Em Up Kats! Like many of you, I thought I knew what field I wanted to go into as a high school senior, but as you can see, my degree has little to nothing to do with education. We do not always know where our paths will take us, but I am fortunate that it brought me back to a place that had such an influence on my life. While I am a young teacher, with students that are almost or already legal adults, I hope that I can use this as an advantage in the classroom. 

I am a part of the district's Instructional Apprentice program while I complete my teaching certificate. I too, am right at the finish line with just one more exam to take. The subjects I will be teaching are Government and Economics, which are both semester courses. I am delighted to play a role in preparing our future adults, and expanding their knowledge of our government and economic systems.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family/dog, binge-watching shows and crafting! If you ever need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.
