Hi. My name is Mark Joslin, or as the kids call me, Mr. "J". I have a BA degree in English from East Central University and I am ESL certified. I am beginning my 25th year as a classroom teacher. However, after 20 years teaching ELA, I am now embracing the challenge of teaching ESL. It is a daunting task teaching non-English speaking students our difficult yet beautiful English language. But I love it! These students, who come to us from all over the world, are most eager to learn our language and very appreciative of the opportunities afforded to them by our American public education system.

In addition to teaching, I am the proud father of a beautiful, creative 10 year old daughter, Alissa. I am also a high school baseball umpire of 18 years, and I play in two different bands in my spare (as little as it is) time. Music, sports, literature, and family...what else is needed for a fulfilling life? :)
