    Dear Lantern Lane Family,


    Thank you for your ongoing support, thoughts and well wishes to our staff, students and surrounding communities. Thankfully, Lantern Lane Elementary did not suffer major damage to our beautiful school. Our thoughts and well wishes are with our surrounding communities who were greatly impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Thank you to all the staff, students, and community who have helped out our district, city, surrounding cities and state in a positive way! You are appreciated!


    We are looking forward to an awesome re-start to the school year on Tuesday, September 12th, and rest assured, the teachers are ready to press on with instruction. FBISD has provided clear details with adjusted timelines for instruction, progress reports, reports cards and grading guidelines. Your students are in good hands and authentic instruction will continue to take place.


    The LLE administration and staff are prepared to offer assistance to all families who have been impacted in anyway by Hurricane Harvey and resources will be provided. We have sent out an assessment link to determine which of our students and their families need immediate assistance. Please take the time to fill out the assessment if you have not already.



    If you are displaced, you should contact or visit LLE beginning Friday, September 8th. Under the McKinney-Vento Act, your students may be eligible for free meals, transportation and other services. If you have questions, you can reach out to the LLE administration or staff or use this Let’s Talk link that is specific to assist students and families whom have been displaced.


    With regards to dismissal, we will continue to use the same routine we had prior to Hurricane Harvey. The car riders will still be called by number, to ensure the safety of all our students. If you do not have the car rider tag available, you will need to come in and show your identification to retrieve your child(ren). The bus route information is available online, and will remain the same for all LLE students. Please be patient with us, as it is typical that there are delays as the school year begins, and we know that like our students, our staff members and bus drivers are also “re-starting” the school year.


    We are beyond excited to have all our students back on Tuesday, September 12th and look forward to a wonderful school year!

  • Back To School Updates for LLE 2017-2018


    Hi Lantern Lane Family,


    I am Dr. Trenae Hill, the new principal here at Lantern Lane! I have a few updates for the 2017-18 school year.


    We are excited to start a new year at Lantern Lane Elementary! Thank you for being a part of our awesome school year and we look forward to all our students very soon.


    The first day of school is Tuesday, August 22nd! Parents and guardians will be able to walk their students to class on Tuesday and Wednesday, which is the first and second day of school! Afterwards, we will not have any parent or guardian walking their students to class, to ensure the students develop their independence and get a great morning start!


    Students may begin to arrive at 7:30am for breakfast. Please refrain from dropping your students off before 7:30am because there will not be any supervision. School starts every day at 8:10am.


    In an effort to create a safe and secure environment, while honoring our students’ collaboration with one another during unstructured time, we have implemented a new lunch policy! Parents and guardians will be able to eat lunch with their child on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays only. If there are any closed campus weeks, parents and guardians will be notified, prior to the upcoming lunch week.
