Hello!  Welcome to the wonderful world of 2nd Grade!  I am Ms. Lewis!  I am super excited to have you in my class this year.  I have 19 years of teaching experience.  I graduated from the best university in the city, The University of Houston! (Go COOGS!)  I have a degree in Psychology with a minor in English.  I recently completed a graduate program with Concordia University-Nebraska.  There, I earned a MEd in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Reading and Science Instruction.  I am super excited to be a self-contained teacher this year!  Over the years, I have learned that being self-contained allows for my students and I to develop a bond that feels like a family.  We cheer and support each other throughout the school year. 

I'm a fur parent.  My dog's name is Khalessi.  She's a lab shepherd mix that is 6 years old.  She's not the best guard dog, but she tries very hard every day!  Also, I am the caretaker for our class pet guinea pig, Willow.  She's an exciting addition to our classroom.  I am not sure how old she is but I have had her for 3 years. I love my family!  I love college football.  I support all Houston teams, but I also cheer for Chicago teams too.  I love traveling, shopping, and going to the movies.

I am really looking forward to a great year deep diving into a sea of learning possibilities!
