My name is Monica Doxey. I am originally from Belize in Central America and moved to Oklahoma when I was young. My family and I moved to Houston in 2019. I graduated from Southern Nazarene University with a degree in Education, from the University of Central Oklahoma with a master’s degree in School Counseling, and from the University of Houston Clear-Lake with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health. I have been a school counselor since 2013 and taught at the elementary and middle school level for 7 years prior to becoming a school counselor. Helping young people learn to advocate for themselves and grow socially, emotionally and academically is my passion.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my son, friends and family. I also love to read, travel and watch movies.  

I am looking forward to building relationships with my students and their families.
