Judy Wu Chung

Dr. Chung came from Taiwan in 2000 and later received her Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts in Cello performance from the University of Texas at Austin. She studied with the renowned pedagogue, Prof. Phyllis Young, and taught as a Teaching Assistant in the String Department and String Project. She was the winner of the 2nd Annual WRR Chamber Music Competition in 2005 and also received several outstanding recognitions from the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competitions.

She has accumulated over 25 years of teaching experience and served at the New Heart Christian School of Music as the school director for 9 years. She has a passion for developing and directing new music programs and camps for the students to reach their full potential, such as Little Bach Music Camp, MAC Camp, and All-State Music Camp, music competitions and festivals.  She earned the Texas Teacher Certification in 2023 and this is her first-year teaching as the Assistant Orchestra Director at Austin High School.
