Mrs. Sumei Lee

Before teaching in Austin High School, I taught Chinese online for six years. I also work as a part-time instructor to teach adults Chinese for the Continuing Education Department of Rice University since 2015. Prior to completion of a Chinese Language teaching program at Rice University and becoming a certified Chinese teacher in Texas, I had worked for several school districts in Houston metro as a substitute teacher and taught Chinese in weekend Chinese schools for many years. In addition, my past experiences includes teaching Chinese Art History in Su-Zhou University, Taipei and working as a museum educator for the National Palace Museum in Taipei. I received my Master of Education degree in Curriculum & Instruction from University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and Master of Art degree in Chinese Art History from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan.

In my spare time, I usually like to go to gym to dance or workout. I like to travel to different places to experience different cultures if I have long holidays. I also enjoy learning new things, including constantly learning new methods that can be used in the teaching of Chinese. I enjoy life, enjoy learning, and enjoy teaching!
