Bachelor of Liberal Arts-Broadcast/Communications Certification-Communications
Ms. K. Smith
Welcome!
I teach Professional Communications in the Career, Technology, & Engineering Department (CTE). I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in Sociology.
The Professional Communications curriculum includes (but is not limited to) hands-on skills such as professional and social communication abilities, language skills, interview skills, career exploration, critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership (all of which are soft skills in high demand, in all career fields).
I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience of these essential skills and look forward to facilitating the needs of our students as they transition into the workplace and the world!
Although this course is an elective, Professional Communications is one of the few classes that every single student will need and use regardless of their path in life!
"Communication is the solvent of all problems and is the foundation for personal development."

CAN WE AGREE TO STOP CALLING THEM “SOFT SKILLS”?
My argument is that defining this skill-set as “soft” actually devalues an essential part of every procurement professional’s toolkit.
